Compress file problem

I have mac os Catalina and when I try to compress any file or folder it says "The operation couldn’t be completed. Operation not permitted". what can I do?

See of any of the tips in this Apple document help: Resolve issues caused by changing the permissions of items in your home folder - Apple Support.

Sometimes upgrades erroniously cause permissions changes.
