watchOS 3 how to update a new version?

Greetings! Tell me what can be done in my situation. There is a 38mm watch of 1st generation with watchOS 3.1. Do they support watchOS 6 and how then to update them? I have a phone with ios 13, it was not possible to pair with them, respectively, and it is impossible to update them in the standby state of pairing.

Maybe someone will be useful. An authorized service center iPort in Russia told me that the watch can be thrown away, nothing can be done with it now. I said “thank you” for the advice and started to figure it out myself. Once again: a iWatch 1 generation with watchOS version 3.1.1 did not connect to the iphone 11 with iOS 13, which is understandable - it is not compatible. Everything turned out to be ridiculously simple, I found friends with 6s with iOS 12, the watch connected, I updated it to watchOS 4.3.2, then I broke the pair and connected it to my phone with iOS 13 on board without any problems.
