I washed my iPhone in normal tap water and it is not working now

Make an appointment at an Apple store to get it replaced. You will have to pay for the replacement. iPhones are not waterproof.

You destroyed your phone by washing it and you will have to buy a replacement phone. There are no other solutions for you. None. iPhone is not waterproof, period. Water damage is simply NOT covered by iPhone warranty.

What do you need out of it? Once there has been extensive entry of liquid, no device is really suitable for any kind of long-term repair. If you're simply looking to get the data off of it that hasn't been backed up, that may be possible. There are third party repair shops that can attempt to fix the board and possibly replace parts that have malfunctioned. Apple will not do it and any reputable shop that does it will inform you that such repair will be undertaken only for data recovery. I've seen such repairs documented. Some parts needed for long-term use may not be replaced. If the screen assembly is damaged a working one might be temporarily used. Liquid damage is one of those things that tend to get worse even after repair. The hope is that the fix lasts long enough to extract a backup of the data.

Your phone has been destroyed by water damage. It's trash now. Recycle it.

Sounds about right. What you did isn’t recommended by Apple and the specifically note that liquid damage I not covered by their warranty.

Oh, but it IS the solution. Your phone is ruined and NO ONE can help you restore it.

There is nothing anyone here can do for you. This is a user-to-user technical support site. Apple is not here.I don't know why you would wash your phone in water though.
