My and my brothers iPads are not functioning correctly. I believe it is because they were discontinued, and the most recent update caused an os crash. Please give advice for what I should do.

While Apple no longer supports this iPad model, it should still function on its current version of the system software.
Have you tried restarting iPad?
Was the iPad mini model A1489 os discontinued
