Restoring editing and typing options

Update to 13.2 is making it very difficult to edit text on my iphone - specifically:

It is now impossible to get the cursor to land within a word - so when just one letter is wrong I have to delete all letters that come after it so I can change it

It is now impossible to move cursor around the text freely by holding the finger on the keyboard area as before.

Note - I don’t use autocorrect - first because I type in several languages, and second because it has caused me and others too many problems that, on balance, it’s not worth the hassle.

How do I restore the keypad behaviour I enjoyed before update to 13.2?

Thanks for your reply.

At the very bottom of the page you linked to, it says:

Turn your keyboard into a trackpad

  1. Touch and hold the Space bar with one finger until the keyboard turns light gray.
  2. Move the insertion point by dragging around the keyboard.

That’s pretty much exactly what I was looking for - it used to work anywhere on the keypad, but this is good enough.

Thanks
