iPhone usability issues

My and my wife’s I -Phone 10 MAX OS Updates make our phones less operable with each update. Our virtual keyboards are very unfriendly. Cursor does not stay where you set it. When we backspace to delete a mistyped letter, the cursor jumps up one or two lines and erases a letter in another word (s) screwing up text elsewhere. Cannot insert cursor in pre-typed words in Safari queries. Cursor gos to end of last word and letter typed.

If can’t fix problems on phone, going back to Samsung Galaxy Note.
