Is there a way to mute the sound of the game while listening to music with AirPods at the same time??

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It's understandable to want to be able to control volume with the game and music. I'll explain.

Some games and apps might offer settings within the app to control or mute volume. Check the settings while using the app to see if this is offered.

Otherwise, the sounds for all media from the iPhone is tied together. Media volume will control all apps and games using media.
