"Connection to outgoing server failed" on iPhone

Hi all,

I tried to send an email earlier this morning and I got a message saying 'Cannot Send Mail The connection to the outgoing server "p14-smtp.mail.me.com" failed'

I've gone into the settings and tried to change things, I've deleted the mail app and reinstalled it, turned the phone on and off and nothing is working. Can anyone help?? Thanks :)

Hello LaurenN1910,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From what I understand, there's an issue sending mail from your iPhone using iCloud for mail. I'll do what I can to help.

Try any suggestions you haven't done already here: Get help using iCloud Mail

If you're still having issues sending, reach out to Apple Support here: Contact Apple Support

Take care.

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try a forced restart.

Reset Device

If necessary

Hard reset

Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.

Restore to Factory setting

Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup
