Yes, if you press and hold the TV button on the Siri Remote then Apple TV will open Control Center. From Control Center you can select a different audio destination including AirPods.
It was introduced with tvOS 13. It is truly phenomenal! It allows quick access to different users, current playback, sleep, AirPlay, and Search. As well as for the first time an easy way to see the current time and date!

You are welcome. I am quite fond of the new Control Center on Apple TV. I too hated having to dive into Settings every time I wanted to use my AirPods.
