I want to know am I able to download and save movies that I've purchased through iTunes to my Apple TV? I can watch them without internet? I want to take my Apple TV on the road where I won't have any reception.
No. The Apple TV storage is for Apps and their data only. You cannot download iTunes content to it.
You can download the movies to an iPhone, or iPad and airplay them to the Apple TV however.
