I have a My Passport external drive hooked up to my iMac and am getting 'Disk not ejected properly' error message whenever the iMac is asleep. Not just one message but many. Is there a way to fix this?
Okay, please reset the NVRAM on the computer and if that does not work, restart in Safe Mode. BTW, do you have any WD software installed on the computer? If you do uninstall it please, it's worthless.

How is the EHD connected to the Mac, is it connected via a USB cable or is a set up as a network drive?

No WD Software installed. Will reset NVRAM. Thank you.
