Windows support software not detected

I saw this request for help and discovered the solution to the problem:

"Am trying to install Windows 7 via Bootcamp assistant and have copied most recent support software to USB, however when I get to step three 'installing Windows 7 or later version' I keep getting this message 'Boot Camp Assistant did not detect the presence of Windows support software. The support software is required to install Windows. Insert a USB drive containing the support software, or click Go Back to download the software.' "


The problem arises because the instructions say to "Drag the Boot Camp folder that you just decompressed to the WININSTALL flash drive to copy the folder to the drive."


The solution is to extract all the files and folders from the "BootCamp5" or "WindowsSupport" folder or zip file to the ROOT FOLDER on the WININSTALL flash drive.

AutoUnattend.xml

BootCamp (folder)
