How much time to return trade in iPhone?

Hi.

how much time do I have to return a trade in iPhone when buying a new one from the Apple store? I looked at all the FAQ and can’t find the answer.

*i want to buy an iPhone as a Christmas gift for someone. Since I won’t give it till Christmas I won’t be able to return the trade in until after that considering the time it’ll take to backup and restore the old and new phones respectively. So I don’t want to order/receive the new phone too early because I’ll wind up returning the trade in after the deadline if it’s only 10 days or so.

texted with them via the Apple store app.

they said 14 days from receipt of the ‘trade in kit’ from the third party service. Credit is issues with five days of them receiving and checking the device.

min case anyone else needed the info....
