Apple messages says "no account configured"

When I tried to send something from online to Messages it says "no account configured", how do I configure it?

Open the "Messages.app" program and then click the Messages menu item, then the Preferences menu item and then click the Accounts icon and then click the "+" at the lower left corner and enter your AppleID account e-mail address and password.
