Mouse cursor disappears

Since yesterday, the mouse cursor disappears whenever I switch between windows or open an applications. I can restore it instantly using 3 finger gesture (up then down). This is on a 2012 Macbook Pro .

Today, a second MacBook Pro has started doing the same behavior. A 2018 model with the touchbar.

Am I the only one with this issue?

Regarding the default preferences, the only change I made on both laptops is to switch to dark mode.

There might have been updates, but nothing was installed since then. And there is not much software in common on these two machines, except for Google Chrome.

I rebooted the 2018 MacBook Pro this morning, and it started right at that moment.

This Looks to be a Bug:

Thank you for the Reply:

I’m looking this up. A few forums mention this being a bug in Catalina. So, you can report this as a bug in Catalina using this link: Feedback - macOS - Apple. Choose “Bug Report” for the “Feedback Type”. Explain this is issue. Proceed from there.

A Few Thoughts:

  • Dark Mode should plays no part in this for me.

  • Having installed updates restart your Mac

  • Reset the SMC and NVRAM: Sometimes operations are performed and then the keyboard settings become manipulated, technically. So... Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM. Then reboot into Recovery Mode once more.

No. I have not come across this.

The only time my cursor goes away is if I am watching a video in full view, and leave my cursor off the progress bar or menu bar, while it is playing.

Have you modified any System Preferences, or installed any software, prior to when this started occurring?
