Have you tried putting them under strong lights for a few hours each side?
This has fixed the problem for me
I can’t recommend the Sony’s WF’s enough. Like I said, I just miss the fluid connectivity. But, other than that, aces.
I have worn my AirPods pro only for 45 min and have allergy symptoms in both ears with itching and inflammation. I suppose that Silicone air tips are not same material as other devices like Sennheiser because I’m always using this kind of stuff.
If there is any alternative ear tips material it would be great to get back my AirPods pro.
As I said before the same thing happened to me, I made the same tries as you, and have the same effects. The only good thing for me and my ears is that I only wore the airpods pro for 40 minutes and it wasn't so bad the injures. I have worn silicone earbuds for 4-5 different companies and never had a problem.
I am waiting to official Apple Ear Tips supplies with similar silicone to other products in the market to be able to use Airpods pro.
If someone else find a solution please share with us.
I’ve had serious reactions to the Airpods Pro too. Swelling of the ear canal, burning, itching, drainage. Would love to try some kind of hypoallergenic alternative tips but I don’t think anything like that exists yet.
The foam tips seemed better at first, but my ears are still really irritated and they seem to be getting worse again. I had never had any issues with earbuds before, after years of use. Now I'm not sure I can use them at all.
I've switched temporarily to earphones, to see if I give myself a longer break if my ears will completely recover. I also ordered a different type of 3rd party tips to try, but I'm going to wait a while (if I can have discipline—I don't like wearing earphones nearly as much).
So its been about 3 weeks since I ordered the Foam tips... the exact same ones as Boatchik, the Foam Masters. Unfortunately they only ship within the US so I just had them sent to my friend and he attempted to consolidate with a bunch of medical masks and ship to me. I paid about $75 for priority express International. My luck would have it the USPS stopped guaranteeing delivery time on mail due to the shortage of flights to HK. My package has departed Chicago about 1.5 weeks ago and with no updates since then.
I hope I can get them soon and will definitely post a follow up.
Edit, I did also order a set of additional cheap silicone tips to try out also. Hopefully its just Apple's materials.
I disagree because in most of our cases we are using same kind of products, with silicone Tips as Apple say about AirPod tips. I have been in allergist and they can find any allergy to silicone, and I can’t find what I’m allergy to because Apple doesn’t explain what materials are behind.
Smart people in medicine can’t do anything without knowing what is different in Apple tips and others, Doctor has done me tests with other tips and Airpods one in may arm, and I only get allergy reaction was to a Apple tip. After that they only suggest me to try to find what is the materials in AirPods or try to replace for other silicone tips, that is why People like me who love Apple Aripods are looking for a solution, other smart people buy other company Earphones and no problema anymore.
we don’t say is a bad product, we say that apart from people that have allergy to silicone tips, this product generate other reaction that other product no, and because we think is a good product we try to have a solution
I'm 69 and I've had lots of allergies. Got them honestly by the old genetic method. And I brought up nickel because if you go over and look in that forum you will see a similar type thread.
I tried the AirPod Pros but none of the sizes fit my ears which really didn't surprise me so I returned them. Maybe someday they will have more size options. Didn't have any allergic reactions. I did ask my allergist if she had any complaints and she said she had seen no cases of it. I did ask her if I wrote a letter for her asking for the composition of the tips would she sign it and mail it and send it in. She said yes, but no I haven't done it yet. Had to do labs at my doctors clinic on Thursday and they said they had no patients there that had complained about it. So apparently almost all of the people having this problem are going to traceyfrombedfords doctor. She should ask her doctor to send a letter.
I had the same issue with my new AirPods Pro as well. I had my mid earlobe swollen once. I waited a week or also and tried again. I was on the phone for 45 min with them and the same happened. I used steroid base ointment and the reaction went away, but I am going back to the old AirPods.

Same for me! Memory foam tips r ok, don’t stay in my small ears very well. But ok.
Apple told me the same thing. In person at the store-several times, by phone, no response to my email. I find it very hard to believe! Too many people on this discussion for them to not be aware. Apple store guy said “Oh, there’s a discussion page for everything...” Big waste of $250.00
I wore them for several months (at the gym daily, for several hours on long flights every other week) but started noticing crusting in my ears after wearing them. Now, I wear them for half an hour and the drainage at night keeps me awake. I thought I was going crazy! No other ear bud has caused this.
Hey all just following up on this in hope of Apple doing something about it.
Very same issue with ear drainage and irritation caused within minutes of wearing AirPods Pro.
Have opened a case with Apple after trying memory foam tips and the problem persisting so I don’t think it’s the silicon tips are causing this problem.
Had to send in photos of my inner ear to apple and answer a lot of questions.
Have now been requested to send the AirPods back to them to be tested by their engineering team.
Will update on the outcome, awful experience as have never had issues with any earphones prior to this.
