iPhone stuck on “Preparing to Transfer”
I was setting up my iphone pro 11, and I elected to "Transfer from old iphone" to get my data on the new device. After going through the apple id and settings, it installed a new update. After that it returned to the transfer process. It got to a screen with a spinning progress wheel that said "Preparing to transfer...". But its has been more than 20 minutes and nothing has changed. The old phone still says "keep this iphone near your old phone.."
It's stuck in such an annoying situation because it activated my phone, so the old phone is not longer connected to my wireless service, and the new one is stuck.
Is there anything I can do to rectify this? Or is it fine and will it eventually get to where it needs to go?
I know this is not the actual transfer screen because I saw that on some youtube videos. My old phone does have a lot of data on it, could that be why it is stuck on that screen?
Perhaps the most annoying thing is that the new iphone's screen keeps going to sleep because I'm not constantly watching it, and I'm not sure if that affects things too
