Can I use my AirPods to listen to my Apple TV?

Yes, if you have an Apple TV HD (4th generation) or Apple TV 4K.

If you have AirPods paired with another Apple device signed in with your same Apple ID then your AirPods are already available from Apple TV's AirPlay destination chooser. If your Apple TV is updated, press and hold the TV button on your Siri Remote > Tap the AirPlay icon > Choose your AirPods.

If your AirPods are not paired with another Apple device then place both AirPods in its charging case and with the lid open press and hold the button on the back of the case until the indicator light starts flashing white. On Apple TV open Settings > Devices > Bluetooth > Choose your AirPods.

Thanks. Our Apple TV uses my iCloud account, but my wife (who has her own iCloud account) wants to use her AirPods with the Apple TV - will she need to pair the AirPods each time she uses them with the Apple TV?

You can also pair these AirPods with Apple TV and they will be available anytime she wants to use them. It is worth mentioning that her AirPods will also show up as an option on all of your Apple devices as an AirPlay destination option.

Once paired, the Apple TV should remember the bluetooth device, for easy selection for a next use.

It will be recognized by its bluetooth ID number, but presented with its custom name.
