Boot Camp does not let me do anything

Hello everyone,

I am writing here because I need assistance with Boot Camp. As shown in the picture below:

When I press the button "Continue" Boot Camp show me that error. I'll provide you an English version of that error by a pic downloaded by the internet located at the bottom of that post. My request is to help me with that error in order to create a Mac compatible bootable Windows USB installer filled with Boot Camp drivers.

My system specs are:

Mac mini 2014, the "basic" version with 4th generation i5.

Four gigabytes of soldered central memory.

As mass memory I use an external connected with USB 3.0 Samsung SSD 840 with 128 gigabytes of capacity where macOS Catalina is installed (APFS) and the original Apple internal HDD drive formatted in exFAT where I want to install Windows 7/10 at 32-bit because I don't need to use more than four gigabytes of central memory and because pointers in 64-bit systems are wider and consume more central memory. I know already that exFAT is an incompatible filesystem for installing Windows into it, my intent is to format it correctly in the installation phase.

English version of the error:

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

This is expected behavior due to your disk layout, which is non-standard - two physical disks in a non-Fusion configuration.

I can only download Boot camp drivers.

Again, this is expected behavior.

Anyway, I'll try with the Windows tool you mentioned with a friend's computer. Since I have all the rest of computers with Linux I tried with WoeUSB and didn't work.

You can use Rufus and Brigadier to build the installer on a Linux machine.

Do you know if is possible to install Windows 7 32-bit too? For what I need to do I don't care about software updates that are supposed to be terminated.

W7 32-bit will create additional issues, due to lack of drivers. The last Mini to support W7 32-bit via Bootcamp is a 2011 model as noted in Install Windows 7 on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support.

Picture version if text one is not visible good:

I forgot to mention that I have attached two external memory mass: one HDD of 500 gigabytes and a microSDXC of 400 gigabytes but even if both are detached the problem is still alive. There is nothing into the internal disk except a "void" exFAT partition that I called Windows 10.

I don't have any of the different windows visible in the link, this issue let me stuck in the window that you see in the pic I sent on first post. I can only download Boot camp drivers. In the link, there are three different 'styles'. Which one do you have?

External non-necessary hardware has been detached and the issue still.

Good.

Your assumption is correct.

Your 2014 Mini is a UEFI Mac. You do not need Bootcamp Assistant to install W10.

  • If you have a PC, download the W10 installer using Media Creation Tool to a USB2 Flash drive
  • Download W10 BC drivers using BC Assistant -> Action -> Download and copy the all the top-level folders of the driver package to the root of the USB2 Flash drive
  • Disconnect all external storage
  • Connect the USB2 Flash drive
  • Reboot and hold Alt/Option
  • Choose EFI Boot and install W10 on the 500GB disk
