The Apple TV 4K is hardware used to stream content to your TV. Please review https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-4k/

I use my Apple TV 4K as my place to watch much of my content, including Apple TV + (see next paragraph), Netflix, Showtime, HBO, Disney +, etc... I also like to look at my photographs that I store on Flickr on my TV which is much better. An Apple TV 4K is great if you want to watch 4K content, for example Netflix has quite a bit and I stream that content to have a great experience watching TV. In order to have the best experience, you need a 4K capable TV, a great internet connection and subscribe to the content you want to watch and you're in business. Setting up and Apple TV is pretty simple. You can think of an Apple TV 4K much like a Smart TV, however in my opinion the experience is MUCH better than a Smart TV's interface.

Apple TV + is a service that just began at the beginning of November, consider it like Netflix where you can stream content. All of the content on Apple TV + is new. You can learn about Apple TV + by clicking https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-plus/ Currently Apple is adding more and more content, so the price is very reasonable, only $4.99 month (less if you sign up for a 1 year subscription) and if you have recently purchased a qualifying new Apple Product the first year is free.
