Do your AirPods work with other apps on your iPhone? Do they work when taking a call, listening to music, or watching a video? If so, and they don’t work with just these specific apps, see if these steps help:
Force quit the apps:

Restart your iPhone:
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Check for updates to the apps and your iPhone:
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Update apps or use automatic downloads
Delete the apps from your iPhone, restart, and install the apps back on to test once more.
If the issue is occurring with more than just those apps and seems to be an issue with your AirPods, try reseting them:
Reset your AirPods
