switching between users takes very long

After upgrading to Catalina, it takes a very long time to switch between users. What could cause this? Thanks in advance for your answers

iMac 27" 5K, macOS 10.15

Thanks, but my Mac doesn't have a Touch Bar. I just use a standard setting as account image.

Is there something else I can try?

FWIW, you may have to wait for the release of 10.15.2. At least that seems to be the case based on the last page of the posted link.
