Having the flexgate issue as well with my 2018 MBP. Except that I'm worse, the entire screen doesn't work! Brought it to local Apple service centre and they are quite sure it's the flexgate issue.

Mine is already out of warranty and apparently the 2018 is not covered under the free repair programme!

What a joke Apple! I'm buying the product expecting it could last me at least 5 years like my old MBP but now it becomes a trash! Worrying that replacing the screen might only last me another year and the same problem might occur next year!

Happens to a lot of thin notebooks. People open up screen from corners instead of from center and screen twists over time and tends to damage screen. Once this happens the only thing you can do is replace screen.
