INCOMING mail goes to TRASH!!

When I try to DELETE my over 150-540 JUNK emails per day (!) somehow it deletes my INBOX mail to TRASH also!! This has happened since I Updated to 13.2.3. Now, I’m afraid to update to 13.3 or whatever it is now!! HELP!!

As I stated before I have a daily struggle with sorting through my enormous JUNK mail for valid emails. Any mail I want to keep I move to my INBOX; all other is marked SELECT ALL and DELETED which sends it to TRASH. Then I have to sort through TRASH for any possibly needed emails that I may have mistakenly sent to TRASH. After all this I finally choose SELECT ALL, then choose DELETE. This seems to throw my iPhone into a glitch as the endless broken circle comes up and lasts 30 minutes or more! Granted this could be due to my OLD 6S+ phone, but even my husband’s new 8 does this a bit. We do have an ongoing signal problem at our home that ATT has not been able to resolve for several years!! - Even purchased a microcell, but it goes “out” often!

Anyway - after the broken circle goes away I open my INBOX and it is EMPTY! 😳🤬 This is very upsetting as some mail I have sent to the INBOX is very important!

But I have discovered if I personally sort my mail into specific mailboxes (ORDERS, CANCER INFO, PHISHING, etc...) the troubled TRASH deletion goes as needed. But with up to 550+ JUNK emails per day -!! - this becomes exhausting! Apparently my addy is being sold everywhere! Every time I unsubscribe to some my JUNK emails begin coming from different phishing sites - many are porn which I have never visited - so why am I getting them?? - Must be from the horrid fake ‘college grant’ solicitor we reported years ago! 😏

Only thing I can think of to resolve this deletion problem is to change my email addy but that would be a struggle for me!!

If I understand your post correctly, some of your mail is going directly into the Trash folder. I’d like to help.


Use this guide to help sort your mail:


Use the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


If the issue is not resolved let us know if this happens when you check your mail via webmail.
