• To put the Apple TV (4th generation or later) in sleep mode, press and hold the TV/Home button, for 2–3 seconds until the options come on screen, then confirm the Sleep by clicking that.
• To put the Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier) in sleep mode, press and hold Play/Pause.

Is this Apple TV Remote app on the iPhone 6, iOS 12, as mentioned in your sig?

Is there a short cut to turn OFF the remote app?

- You can close that app and not use it.

- You can turn off Keyboard Input notifications, if they bother you.

Very frustrating to have to key in so many things.

You still haven’t disclosed which model Apple TV you have.

I have confirmed for myself, before posting, that the Apple TV Remote app works to put the Apple TV 4K in sleep mode, same as the regular Siri Remote could.
