iOS 13.2.3 changing region by itself

There is also an extreme heat during carplay, i can’t hold the phone in my hands and i fear it can explode. A popup told me once that the phone was too hot!! Never seen such an alert before! I think that it can become a safety problem in the next summer..

This happened to me serval times, nevertheless, it’s not only changed my region, but also changed my keyboard setting every single time. For a non-English user like me, I have Japanese, Chinese keyboard on my iPhone, and all my setting had changed itself.

I have the same problem in Denmark, also on iPhone 7 - when connecting to CarPlay, region and language changes and iPhone gets hot. Sometimes I also gets the News app that doesn't work in Denmark. I'm running 13.4.1.

I've been getting this too in the UK- was happening twice a week at least (I used CarPlay every day for my commute) - I’d get the US region settings- 12 hour clock and maps talking about feet etc...

it’s been happening since iOS 12 last year - I haven’t tested for a month (for obvious reasons) but I think the absence of a region change when I haven’t used CarPlay shows it’s connected

Also having this problem. Running iOS 13.3 but looks like even the latest iOS still has the issue.

Another problem I’ve noticed is that all of my Photos doesn’t show geotag locations, just the date. The geotag is still there when I scroll down below a photo, but not showing at the top of the photo above the time. Really annoying...anyone have this problem too?

Have an Iphone 11,,, my husband an Iphone 8 both do this on a regular basis in the Uk btw,,, driving us mad as it switches the time 24 to 12 hour etc, changes our numbers to what ever region it switches to, which in turn doesn’t show our names etc as the number isn't stored in phone 🙈 no matter how many times we change it still continues, I love Iphones but if this is all we get Ill be looking to change next upgrade, also neither use carplay xx

I have the same problem in The Netherlands , also on iPhone 7 - when connecting to CarPlay, via USB, suddenly the region and language changes to USA/English and iPhone gets really hot.

it happens mostly after Spotify is stuttering or doesn’t give Sound at all. But it seems unplugging the usb cable from the CarPlay will trigger the same problem.

I have the same issue. I've pinpointed it to Carplay usage. Sometimes (I've yet to figure out the precise factors) my iPhone changes to US region, changes language to English and becomes very hot as well when connected to Carplay. Nothing you can do about it except manually changing it back.

This problem is persisting!!! When connected to Carplay Iphone 7 (ios 13.3.1) become dangerously hot and change region, language, keyboards to US. I am so disappointed and disillusioned with Apple for not providing any answer since 6 months we all report of this problem. I will for sure not spend the extra money for having ios, if this is the service level.

From time to time region/language change from France/French to US/English when using CarPlay.

Very annoying bug. Most annoying thing for me is Apple doesn’t care at all.

Nice product but crappy service.

first i hat that issue occasionally (months ago), then more often and now (since 2 or 3 days)i have it EVERY TIME when listening to podcasts via carplay!

Changes from Austria (german) to US (english), iOS 13.5

I'm using quite a lot of cars and it appears that this problem is mostly connected with Volkswagen group cars with new infotainment (Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon, VW Golf). Every time when I'm connecting with CarPlay, my phone changes the region/language to US/English (I'm from Poland).

Also it happens only when connceting via cable - wireless connection to CarPlay is not affecting my phone. I'm using iP7.

I have this issue happened multiple times on my iPhone 7 as well. Apart from region gets reset to US, my keyboard settings were randomly messed up as well. Sometimes it shows 7 different keyboard which I have never used before, this morning it shows only US and emoji keyboards.

Also noticed something, when this happens, looks like I am not able to retrieve any `locale` info from iOS SDK, e.g. the `currencyCode` returns nil from NumberFormatter even the current region says US. But if I manually set the region to US (change to something else and change back to US), the `currencyCode` returns the expected value.

FINALLY FOUND!

Just got my new car last week and I encountered the very fustrating unexpected change of region settings from Belgium French to US English, together with losing the keyboard settings of my iPhone 7. I was quite upset this was not solved as this is a known problem since years.

I finally found that this happened when I was using Spotify app from the Apple Play.

Since I’m avoiding Spotify, I never had this bug.

Next challenge: Having Spotify or iOS or CarPlay fixing Spotify bug.
