iOS 13.2.3 changing region by itself

I have the same issue. I've pinpointed it to Carplay usage. Sometimes (I've yet to figure out the precise factors) my iPhone changes to US region, changes language to English and becomes very hot as well when connected to Carplay. Nothing you can do about it except manually changing it back.

Hi - is the issue still there on 13.5.1?

I’ve been in lockdown since mid-March and haven’t tested it

But does demonstrate it’s CarPlay- no region changes for 2.5 months ...

I have the exact same thing in the Netherlands. Mine seems to crash when using Carplay and Spotify. Spotify music starts studdering and stops playing, the rest of the CP apps seem to keep working (at least TomTom as I use it for navigating). After this crash the 'Opdrachten' (Tasks?) app is now back on my main screen (normally I dont use it and put it in another folder). The region and language are all set to English/USA.

Dutch tech forum Tweakers has other users that also report this issue with iPhone 7s on 13.2.3.

Edit: updated to 13.3, issue persists.

same in my story: iPhone 7, newest published iOS. I have iPhone set to Polish with all regions inside. Often, only Phone/Google Maps app changes display language into English.

once, when my phone warmed up highly (5h driving on CarPlay + Spotify) it switched off ITSELF. As a “present” I got “News” App, US region and English as a device language.

hope that’s a bug not intentional suicide plan for iPhone 7...

I have the same issue since moving to ios 13.x and it persists even now with ios 13.4. Iphone7, original region: Austria, keyboard: Hungarian, mostly after using CarPlay (Ford C-Max), but not only. It switches to US region with keyboards set to US+emoji (switched off for me). Does not happen on ipad (gen 6).

Same issue here. It began months ago and still persists on iOS 13.4. Defenetly connected with CarPlay, happens mostly in the car but sometimes also after some time from disconnection.

Native Region Poland, changes Itself to the US.

iPhone 7, the device gets very hot and functions very slow before it happens.

Same here. Happens fairly often, like once a week nowadays. I think it happens when my phone is connected by USB to Apple CarPlay and switches time, region, temperature, language and keyboard settings to US. I’m in Canada.

Same problem here in France.

iphone 7 on iOS 13.4.1 with Peugeot 308sw.

From time to time region/language change from France/French to US/English when using CarPlay.

Very annoying bug. Most annoying thing for me is Apple doesn’t care at all.

first i hat that issue occasionally (months ago), then more often and now (since 2 or 3 days)i have it EVERY TIME when listening to podcasts via carplay!

Changes from Austria (german) to US (english), iOS 13.5

I still have this bug. I don’t know if it has been resolved after the recent 13.6 update. But being bi-lingual and using CarPlay is definitely the trigger. Quite frustrating actually. But I can also say that I’m not using Spotify. Apple Music, Fip radio and TuneIn radio are the ones I tend to use.

Also happening to my iPhone 7 with iOS 13.3 when I plug it into my CarPlay radio. Changes from German/Germany to English/US.

Had the same issue in Belgium. See some references here to CarPlay. I recently updated the VW app. Though I also have iPhone 7.

This still happens to me a lot after I plug my phone into apple carplay. I have an iPhone X

I have the same problem in Sweden. It has escalated from every now and then to every time I connect the phone to car play. Changes region and language and gets really hot. Vw

Same here, from Portuguese (Portugal) to English (US) by itself.

i’m running iOS 13.5.1 on a iPhone 7.

Now it’s happening everytime I connect to CarPlay.
