"Your Apple Pay device has been revoked due to chip manufacturing issue"

Can anybody help with an issue I’m having with trying to add cards to Apple Pay.

When I go and try and add a card, I get a notification saying your Apple Pay device has been revoked due to chip manufacturing issue. I recently got a replacement phone under guarantee due to a hardware issue, and after restoring the new phone from backup haven’t been able to add my cards back to wallet. Tried Apple support but they just direct you to a page with instructions on how to add cards.

Bank also says it’s an Apple Pay problem.

Thanks. Photo shows the message I receive when trying to add cards.

Check your Apple ID region to make sure it is correct and make sure the region is correct on your device. Make sure you are using a passcode, Go to these links and make sure you follow the instructions on each one - Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support

here too - If you can't add cards to Wallet for Apple Pay - Apple Support

Did you tell them what the error message was?

Thanks for the reply. Tried all that just now. Region was correct. Went through all the help pages. I told Apple support what the problem/error message was. I thought it was maybe something related to setting up the handset from a backup of the previous handset, but just tried to setup as a new iPhone using my Apple ID and no backup but still getting the same message when trying to add cards to the Wallet.
