iPod & iTunes

i have a iPod classic that won’t work and can’t be repaired, if I buy a new or refurbished one, will I now and in the far future still be able to download songs from iTunes?

Ipod I lost my Ipod Classic (which I loved) a while back. I decided to get a new one via Amazon. Now, I want to add songs on to it. But for some reason, it won't work. Itunes keeps freezing while the Ipod is plugged in, and says that its connecting with an arrow that keeps going around and around. I have the newest version of Itunes. Instead of wasting data on my phone to listen to music via Youtube, I would love to have my new Ipod work. I don't know what to do.

Purchased music does not sync to iPod Classic iPod Classic 120GB Model MB565LL MacPro mid 2012 Catalina 10.15.7 I have also tried "Transfer Purchases" after the full sync failed to copy over my purchased music. Is the iPod simply too old? Thanks anyone. DonSimon

I'm able to add media to my iPod classic using Finder on macOS 10.15 Catalina now. Who knows what the future will bring?
