When I gift an Apple TV how does the person who receives the gift have this device added to their Apple Id instead of mine?

When I gift an Apple TV how does the person who receives the gift have this device added to their Apple Id instead of mine? I want to buy someone an Apple TV for Christmas and I know that the device will be added to my Apple Id as a device that I own. How does the receiver of this gift transfer the ownership of this device from my Apple Id to their Apple Id? Also, if a new Apple TV comes with a 1 year subscription to Apple TV+, how does the receiver of the gift get that transferred to their Apple Id?

The new Apple device will not be registered to the buyer, even though their purchase history might show that item.

The Apple device will be registered to an Apple ID during setup. That will be the first registered user. No transfer needed.

The offer for 1 year of Apple TV+ is available on the new device for the Apple ID as used during first setup of that device. Again, no transfer needed.
