Removing Sparsebundle (& Reclaiming Space from Sparsebundles)

Hello,

I'm running a Late 2016 MacBook Pro on 10.12.1. I created a sparsebundle disk image a while ago that I no longer keep files in and I would like to remove it entirely. Is there any way to do that?

On a related topic, I have a different sparsebundle that I do use a lot, and I am wondering if this slightly dated video is still relevant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASv9LWa2WYc

Do I have to run terminal commands to reclaim space from sparsebundles?

Thank you!

Just delete the SparseBundle as you would any other file.

If the size of all the contents within the Spardbundle are significantly smaller than the Finder's reported size of the sparsebundle image file, then you probably need to use the Terminal commands. I've never done this myself nor have I ever had the need. Perhaps another user or contributor will know for sure.
