My speech to text is permanently on without pressing the microphone button. Is this a fault with IOS13?

My speech to text is permanently on without pressing the microphone button. This is a real issue when I am trying to type a message in an noisy environment and it’s typing in background conversations at the same time as my typing. Is this a fault with IOS13? What can I do to sort the problem out?

iPhone 11, iOS 13

I've managed to stop the issue by switching off Voice Control - Setting > Accessibility > Voice Control > Voice Control [toggle button switched to off]

Hello Jonnydas72.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

If I'm understanding correctly, you have been experiencing issues with dictation always being on. I will be glad to assist.

Let's toggle the Dictation setting on, then off and restart your iPhone to see if it helps:

Dictate text on iPhone

"Enable Dictation

  1. Go to Settings  > General > Keyboard.
  2. Turn on Enable Dictation.

"

Restart your iPhone

Cheers.

Hi Joseph. Thank you for replying. I've tried your suggestion, namely switch dictation on, then off and restart. Also tried several variations of switching on and off dictation and restarting but nothing seems to work. Its still typing in spoken words when in keyboard mode. The speech to text to microphone icon is no longer showing and defaults to keyboard but still types in any spoken word. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as its virtually impossible to type when I am in a noisy environment where people are talking. Thanks again.
