EXS not searching my entire system for samples

Hi all,

I'm trying to tidy up my Sampler Instruments once and for all but I'm struggling getting the EXS to point to the right samples. Both the Sampler Instruments and Samples folders have been Aliased with content living on an external drive.

I have issues with some instruments, not all (just to add to the confusion..)

Example: When I open the Sampler Instrument "Classical Piano" it loads up the patch ok, but looking at the samples' location it's actually a specific Logic project on a different local drive. So I moved that Classical Piano sample folder from there to my Desktop, closed and reopened Logic with another EXS, loaded up the Classical Piano instrument from the black menu and got presented with the familiar pop up window showing about 10-15 paths on my system where the EXS has found a Classical Piano folder. Sounds all normal, except for the fact that those paths are all on the same drive (same as where the logic project folder containing the removed samples is) and no sign of the one on my external drive or some other Classical Piano folders I know for sure are on other drives too.. It doesn't even see the one I just moved to the Desktop.

Forcing the EXS to search only into external volumes produces no results and re-indexing the external drive doesn't work either.Must be noted that a normal spotlight search for the samples' names shows the external drive results as well, which would suggest indexing is not the answer.

Also, other instruments pointing to samples on the external drive open up with no problems, which leaves me with no answers to this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
