Here is Apple's support article-->Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support

You can also sync a lot of the data on your phone in real time using iCloud. To do this on each device go to Settings/{your name}/iCloud and turn on the switches for any data you want to sync.
