mac mail not taking a reset password

I installed the latest MacOs security update and cannot get my Outlook account to sync. Gave me userid or password invalid. Reset MS password and it works on web, iphone and ipad but not with Mac. Checked keychain and password is correct. Where does issue lie?

To not so obvious solution was to go into preferences, accounts and remove all the "offending" internet accounts apparently to resolve the keychain. Then reentered them all and issue resolved.
