Modifying ... requires an admin name and password

Hello,

I have an issue with copying files to my WD external drive. It does appear in Finder and when i want to copy or paste, it says “Modifying WDMyCloud requires an admin name and password”. How do I fix this?

Not realising it at the time I wiped the machine and started fresh. Because it failed I wasn't able to restore it the normal way, instead I had to go in and "show package contents" on the half completed capture. After I compressed the folders and moved it onto the machine I had access to everything. The issue now is that when I want to adjust these folders, or delete files from within I'm prompted with the touchID or password box. Going to get info and checking folder permissions show the account should have full read & write access. Is there anyway to essentially cleanse a folder and it's contents of any previous permissions? All other folders and content on my machine works fine. It is just the files which had come from the time machine package. Cheers

How do I allow standard users (NOT Administrators) to use Time Machine? How do I allow standard users (NOT Administrators) to use Time Machine? I administer several remote MacOS systems and I need to allow users to recover files from Time Machine backups without my admin credentials. I would think that there should be a way for them to recover their own files from a Time Machine backup, but they are continually prompted for admin credentials.

ext hd requires password I moved an external HD from my desktop to my laptop, and now when I want to move/erase/etc. any file on it, it asks for my password. how can I remove this? thanks in advance!

Get info command i on the external drive and look at permissions here—ignore
