I have many playlists on Apple Music, many of which I publish on my profile. I update them and change the description every week. But, while the playlists update, the description keeps resifting to the one I had months ago. Ideas?

When you go to update the description of your playlist, does it show the previous update, or does it show the original text you set it up with? Does this happen with new playlist you create as well or just previously existing playlist? If you haven’t already, create a new playlist, save it and then update the description and save it again. See if that works as expected:

Also, see if this happens if you update your playlist from safe mode or a new user account. This can isolate the cause of this issue and possibly resolve:

Well, I didn't do any of that. I just opted to keep updating the description via my iPhone and that seemed to let it stick.

Basically, I assume that it's just a bug in the MacOS Music app.

Thanks for that info. The one reason I wanted to see if this happens with new playlist is to isolate the issue. If new playlist descriptions can update without issue, it may be something to look further into.

It depends. On most of them it reverts to the description as it was originally set (in October). On a couple, some combination of things I was doing had it stick the update afterwards (in November and earlier in December). But on all of them, at the moment, it always eventually reverts to it's last "stuck" description.

These are all existing playlists with people following them (which I don't want to lose in creating new ones). If all I had to do was create new ones, I wouldn't be having this issue.

Well, I suppose I could boot from safe mode and see if it happens again. If I create new user account, I'd have to login as myself to Apple Music as well. But I could try that when I get a chance.
What I may attempt, which may be easier, is seeing what happens when I try to update it from my account on my laptop (as opposed to my desktop, where I usually manage things).
Catalina has got to be one of the buggiest macOS releases in years. Thanks for the tip on using iOS to solve that, I've been butting my head against this for some time. I prefer to do most of my playlist curation on macOS, but now I know I'll have to reserve metadata for the mobile platforms. Ridiculous, but it is what it is.
