An e-mail which can be fake

Hello. I got a message this morning. The sender section says Apple ID but it seemed to me fake. So I wanted to ask you. Is that real? Have you sent me message like that? Should I trust and click that link? The sender is: “mailapps-ujbcwmfnre0@variantfixture.com”

  • Apple does not send such messages.
  • Apple would not warn of a pending account issue, giving you a deadline to fix the issue.
  • Apple does not include document, or PDF files to download.
  • Apple would not refer to you as Dear Customer, Dear Client, or anything other than the name on file for your account.
  • Apple would not have such horrible spelling or grammar.
  • Apple would not send a message to “Undisclosed Recipients”.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message, as an attachment to Apple.

reportphishing@apple.com

1. No. Forward it to reportphishing@apple.com as an attachment and then delete it.

2. Apple doesn't send those; if an Apple ID actually gets locked, its owner will be told when they try logging into it. For reference, most of the people who answer questions here aren't Apple employees.

3. No.
