Two sided printing enabling on MacBook Air

How do I enable two sided printing on MacBook Air? I am using a HP Officejet 3830 series 2.0 printer. I have tried changing the layout but when it comes to selecting the two-sided option it is highlighted in grey and it says 'off', meaning I cannot use that option for printing layout.

How to turn on double-sided printing option when it is grayed out? I have an Epson 3760 printer with a double-sided printing option. I have an iMac 27 inch; late 2013; 3.5 GHz Quad Intel Core i7 running Catalina vs 10.15.7. I previously had the ability to print double sided. I can print double sided from my iPhone. I printed a multi-page document from MS Word yesterday and unchecked the double-sided printing. Today, that double-sided option check box has disappeared. Why is my double sided option grayed out? How do I turn it back on?

I don’t have a good answer for you. I want to let you know that I use an Epson WorkForce 645 printer and two-sided printing works just fine for this printer in MacOS Catalina. It works just as it did under previous Mac operating systems.
