Red glitch when powering off computer

After updating to iOS Catalina I have been having a problem with my MacBook Pro. It happens sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. When I go to shut it down it glitches a red screen for a quick second and then turns off. I’m wondering is this something that happened because I upgraded to iOS Catalina, because it didn’t happen before I updated.? I took a video and screenshot the frame where it appeared to glitch quickly. Note, I’ve only had this computer for 1 year.

Hi Cindy,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that when you shut down your Mac you're intermittently seeing a red screen when you shut down your Mac. I can see why you'd reach out about this behavior; I'd like to help. I suggest that you start with these steps to reset the NVRAM on your Mac: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

After performing the steps for the reset, take some time to test for the behavior you've seen when shutting down your Mac.

I'd also suggest using the steps in this resource to run a diagnostic to look for any potential hardware issues: How to use Apple Diagnostics on your Mac

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
