Ipad Pro or Ipad Air for Architect?

Hi,

I'm an architect and I'm thinking on buying a new Ipad.

In order to use my Architect Apps (BIMx or Archicad) I'm not sure which IPAD I should buy.

I have a Macbook Pro to develop profects and I'm searching for a IPAD that will be used mainly for Visualization.

Should I go for an Ipad Pro 64gb or an Ipad Air 256gb?

Thanks for sharing,

I would go for the higher internal storage amounts in both models.

64 GBs of internal storage is sufficient, but really not enough for any serious work to be done and stored on the device.

It is better to go for the higher storage capacities in either iPad model.

256 GBs is a good amount of storage for any mobile device.

If you are not comfortable with paying the $1K price tag for the 256 GBs, 11 inch screen iPad Pro, then just settle for the much cheaper, 256 GBs iPad Air 3, instead.

While BIMx appears to have an iOS version, there is no iOS version of Archicad.

So, you would need to find an iOS CAD app that would allow editing and/or viewing of Archicad files.

My opinion, since I used to work in engineering and have some architectural background, as well as, a general design/graphics design/industrial design background, either iPad Air 3 or iPad Pro would do the job.

If you want to save some cash, either go for the 10.5 inch screen iPad Air 3 or the 11 inch screen iPad Pro.

Both will be fine for what you wish to do.

Best of Luck to You on your final decision!
