Why does my iPad Pro only charges with one lightening cable and others don't work?

I'm having trouble with my iPad Pro that will not charge with any other lightening cable except one. An old one that is about to break. I tried other ones and bought brand new ones and none of them work. The connection is secure. I doesn't feel loose. Any ideas what I need to do or have done to fix this problem?
