Apple TV+ ads in the classroom

I airplay my iPad via airplay to a TV in my classroom, and since the last update, as soon as I stop sharing my screen, advertisements for TV+ shows and movies come up on the screen. Needless to say, this is a distraction and there needs to be a way to opt out or, better yet, a "classroom mode" that lets you choose what gets displayed on your home screen.
