iPhone 7S 1 key on keyboard not working

When using the keyboard on my iPhone to write text messages or emails, the keyboard will not accept the 1 key and instead inserts the 2 in my message. Is there a way to reset my keyboard so that the entire keyboard will work? I also have problems using the 'x' button in the top left hand corner of the touch screen now.

I was recently in a foreign country and my iPhone went crazy flashing various screens of apps. I was unable to even turn off my iPhone by swiping right.

Is there something with the O/S that needs to be updated?

Hi QuestionHerePleaseHelp,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're having an issue with tapping the far left side section of your iPhone when using the keyboard, and I'd like to help out.

If you have a case on your iPhone, remove it and see if that makes a difference with tapping the number 1 and the top left X.

You want to make sure that you are tapping squarely on the screen over the desired character, as a little to the right may not work, or may select the next character.

Have you been able to turn off your iPhone since that flashing screen incident? Restart your iPhone

If it happens again where you can't turn off your iPhone because it's not responding at all, try this: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

Another thing to check, is that you're using the correct keyboard: About the keyboards settings on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you're still having the same issue without the case, and after a restart, the next step is to back up and then restore your iPhone using your computer.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Take care!
