IPhone8 keyboard issues

Recently lost predictive and auto-correct functionality on my keyboard when using the Message feature. Also, default keyboard (English) does not come up immediately; instead, an alternate keyboard first appears, then English keyboard after a 1-2 second delay. Keyboard works just fine for email, etc. Any advice?
