I recently change my AppleID to a new email address but missed signing out of one of my apple devices

I recently change my AppleID to a new email address. I missed signing out of one of my apple devices (iphone 7) that I was using with the old Apple ID. I can not move past the activation lock window since its asking for my old Apple ID which no longer exists. What can I do? I also tried using my passcode but couldn't recall it. So i ran out of the allowed number of attempts. When it rain, it pours!!!

if you are the original owner, take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store.

or contact Apple ID Support. They will need to see the original purchase receipt/paperwork also.
