Help!--How do I restore my lost Lyft app to the home screen of my iPhone 7?

I'm about to leave for vacation and will need Lyft, but the Lyft app has disappeared from my iPhone's home screen. The App Store stays I have it, but I don't know where to look for it or get it back onto the home screen. I've explored several suggestions on the internet, but none of them works. I've never pushed the "Hide unused apps" button in Settings.

It used to be in my "Travel Apps" folder on the home screen. I haven't used it for quite a while, and I did upgrade to iOS 13 a while back. If that's the problem, though, I don't know where it migrated to. One website said to go to the App Store and choose "25 top apps," "Categories," etc., but I couldn't find anything like that. Settings also doesn't seem to have anything that allows a search, and I don't see Sherlock on my home screen, so I can't use that. Thanks for any suggestions out there!

Hello, Turtlewiz!

Thank you for visiting the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly you confirmed that the Lyft app is on your iPhone by the option to open it instead of downloading it in the App Store, but you’re not seeing it in any of it’s usual places. I certainly understand how convenient a ride sharing app can be when you’re on vacation, so I’m happy to see how I can help.

  • Have you tried restarting your iPhone? If not, try that first. A simple restart can resolve many issues.
  • If restarting doesn’t help, we may need to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Lyft > Delete App.

  • Still no app icon? Resetting the Home screen layout may help you find it. Keep in mind that this will reset your Home screen to default settings, so you'll need to reorganize.

Hopefully this will resolve your missing app icon concern before you leave. If not, try opening it from Search in Today View. This may help if you find yourself in a pinch.

Use Search on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have a great time on vacation and a Happy Holidays!
