This is a well known issue here in these iPad support communities.

This intermittent, unresponsive touch screen issue affects a continuing, growing minority of iPad Pro users/models across all 4 years of iPad Pro models, as well as the new 2019 10.5 inch screen iPad Air 3.

Take a look at these long standing, longer posts on the subject of this intermittent, unresponsive touch screen

issue, below.

There is STILL no “official” confirmed iOS updates, solutions/fixes, from Apple, after over a year, now!

None.

That is because this issue is either STILL only affecting a growing, but still very small minority of iPad Pro users OR iPad Pro users are simply NOT reporting this issue enough here in these official Apple iPad support communities OR simply NOT posting enough feedback to Apple about this intermittent, unresponsive iPad Pro touch screen issue to alert the proper responsible and cognizant Apple employees and teams and get them working on this iPad Pro touch screen problem.

The best you can do is to continue to alert Apple to this growing issue and hammer the Apple iPad feedback pages mutiple times on this issue.

The only way to get Apple to, DIRECTLY, listen to you is to use their feedback portion of their website.

iPad Feedback

Cognizant Apple employees read ALL feedback generated from all of the various feedback pages and transfers the data to the proper and responsible Apple teams and personnel , but NO Apple employees will ever respond with any type of direct, individual replies from the feedback you post.

You can post as much multiple feedback about this issue any time.

The more users that post product feedback about any product issue, the faster Apple is made aware and starts working on a fix/solution for a future software update.

As I stated, this intermittent, unresponsive iPad Pro touch screen issue has plagued a small, but growing minority of iPad Pro users across all 4 years of iPad Pro models for just over a year, now!

Also, you may want to phone contact Apple, directly in Cupertino, California, and calmly talk to an Apple customer service employee about this issue via the contact link below.

The oleophobic and or screen matte coating/s do not affect the touch sensitivity of any iDevice, at all!

Over time, the oleophobic coating wears off.

This only affects fingerprint/finger oils resistance and screen reflectivity issues and NOT touch control.

My iPad 2, 3 and 4-year old iPad Pro models have no oleophobic coating left and touch on my iPads is fine.

This is a combination of a newer iOS version and internal hardware issue/bug.

This intermittent, unresponsive touch screen issue became more prevalent and pervasive when iOS 12 was first introduced.

My own 4-year old iPad Pro is STILL running iOS 10.3.3 and it is NOT having ANY touch screen issues, whatsoever!

Good to know. Model 2017 of the iPad Pro definitely has the problem as I found out after having three of them and finally trading up for a 2019. Notice how I didn’t use any caps in that sentence. Have a lovely day.

FYI,

If I typed all my entire replies in all capital letters, this would be considered yelling/shouting!

I use only sporadic words in all capital letters to indicate emphasis of a point of view/statement.

Difference.

I use capital letters all the time here for emphasis!

No.

All 4-years of iPad Pro models and the 2019 iPad Air 3 ALL share this intermittent, unresponsive touch screen issue.

It is NOT just the 2017 iPad Pro models.

The difference with the newer 2018, 3rd gen iPad Pro models is that there is a very easy temporary fix/solution to fix this touch scteen issue that IS NOT available to any older affected iPad Pro models or the new 2019, iPad Air 3 models that still use the Home button.

See my next reply below.
