I bought this phone thru goodwill. It has been erased but activation lock is still on from previous owner

I bought this iPhone 7 at a good Will I was able to erase it and set to original factory settings but the activation lock from old owner is still there. How can I get around that

There is nothing you can do. Without the password and AppleID used to setup activation lock, there is no way to disable it. Take it back to Goodwill and ask for a refund - they should not be selling donated devices that cannot be used by anyone.


Apple will not get involved with issues arising from the sale or exchange of used personal devices.


Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support
