firmware file is not compatible

Been trying to update my iPhone7 to the latest iOS software, but the Software Update page on my phone has just said "Update Requested" for weeks now. I tried to installing the update by connecting my phone to my computer, but when the download was complete it says "The iPhone could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible." Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Jefe101,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you're having an issue with updating your iPhone, and I'd like to do what I can to help out.

If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has steps to follow, which include making sure iTunes is up to date, if you're not using macOS Catalina.

If you are still receiving that error after following the steps in the above article, then I'd recommend contacting Apple Support.

Take care!
